KNUN Information Desk,
Homa Bay County, 20/6/2018

HAPPY DAY, WITH GOOD NEWS.

The Industrial Court in Nairobi has today ordered that nurses of Homa Bay County whose pay slips and salary have been stopped from December 2017 be reinstated into payroll and be paid their salary in full, including the arrears, pending determination of the matter before court.

Kenya National Union of Nurses filed the matter under certificate of urgency and was granted conservative stay orders, on behalf of its members, that now renders the termination letters null and void pending hearing and determination of the case.

The case has been transferred to ELRC in Kisumu and will be heard on 17/7/2018. Copy of the orders will be sent to KNUN Homa Bay Branch for evidence based knowledge of the members.

“Let me thank all nurses of Homa Bay County, members and leaders of KNUN Homa Bay branch for standing firm in the defence of nursing and in the defence of our colleagues. Appreciation also goes to the GS, Seth Panyako and the entire KNUN national office for the support we have received so far from that office.” Said George Opiyo – The Union branch Secretary for Homabay.

God is great and may God bless you.
