The long awaited Inaugural National Governing Council Meeting was held on Friday 29th August 2014 at st Andrewa��s P.C.E.A church in Nairobi.
The event which brought together all the 47counties plus MTRH and KNH,KNUN officials was a success. The Guest of Honour was Bro.Francis Atwoli the Secretary General COTU(K),who was ushered in by the General Secretary Mr.Seth Panyako.
Changes within the National office were done and new leaders elected to take over from former leaders who were expelled from the union leadership.
The National Governing Council distributed leadership position regionally from North Eastern,North Rift Region,South Rift,Central Region,Nyanza Region,Western Region,Eastern Region,Coast Region,Nairobi Region,KNH and MTRH.
Names of the newly elected officials will be brought to your know very soon.
The new names for the elected leaders will be taken the Registrar of Trade Unions for registration according to the Labour Relations Act and the Constitution.The National Governing Council gave the new leaders task to ensure the affairs of the union are run accordingly.
They will be meeting soon to nominate the new officials to fill the vacant positions after expulsion of the other leaders and forge the way forward.
