The Union is strongly opposed to the heinous acts by the Salaries and Remunerations Committee. It is inhumane for the commission to oppose the payment of allowances to Healthworkers at such a time the Country is in a tragic Health Crisis . Periodic bonuses and motivations during such abnormal times cannot be unlawful. SRC in the above letter suggest that Healthworkers are the problem to COVID-19 yet they have been the real MONSTER to healthworkers.
Healthworkers have put their lives in danger in fight against the Pandemic hence the need to motivate them. The commission should instead advocate for provision of Personal Protective Equipments to our Frontline soldiers and not this kind of side shows. They should also consider providing Life insurance as well as increasing Risk and Commuter allowances.
