Following the declaration by the High Court and the ruling by the Court of Appeal that the Housing Levy as provided for in Section 84 of the Finance Act as illegal, the Attorney General has advised KRA that there is now no legal basis to deduct the Levy from the Employees Salaries.
The Union has written to all Employers demanding stoppage of the deduction from the Nurses Salaries with immediate effect and consequently refund the monies deducted.
